Agree to Disagree, a cut from Ras Kronik’s third album The Energy, captures how the singer-songwriter views the unrest gripping the world. He has now shot a music video meant to carry that theme further.
Anna Mellis, who is from Poland, directed the clip, which was recorded in Poland and Las Vegas.
“The message (behind the song) is for humanity to live in love and oneness, especially in this time where we’re going through the evolution of consciousness,” said Ras Kronik. “With the video released, over time it will help get the message out, because that’s the intention.”
Living in Las Vegas, Ras Kronik ranks among the city’s better-known reggae performers. Born in Clarendon, he has built a broad following largely through roots-reggae releases while also exploring EDM and Trap.
For The Energy he teamed up with Pandemic Records, an Atlanta independent label run by his brother Sheldon Edwards. Production help also came from The Bonafide Band, fellow Jamaicans based in Las Vegas.
The 12-track project includes other socially minded songs such as Working For The Boss, Set me Free and Fyah Burn, the last of which features Turbulence.
His debut album, The Real Thing Remix, came out in 2013. Wild N Free, album number two, arrived three years later.
