Fitzgerald Says Speid Is Front-Runner For Reggae Boyz Coaching Post

Veteran coach Calvert Fitzgerald says the Jamaica Football Federation’s move to recruit a Reggae Boyz head coach looks like a process with the outcome already leaning one way, as he believes interim manager Rudolph Speid is the favoured candidate.
The JFF opened applications for the post after Steve McClaren left last November. Speid has since guided Jamaica in recent assignments, among them the FIFA Intercontinental Play-offs and the Unity Cup. Fitzgerald said Speid is “the most powerful man in football in Jamaica,” adding that his years of influence around the federation have given him a strong advantage.
