Reggae Girlz to meet Panama in June friendlies ahead of CONCACAF Women's Championship
Jamaica's women's national football team, the Reggae Girlz, are set to face Panama in two international friendlies in June.
The matches are scheduled for 5 and 8 June at the Estadio Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez. Both fixtures are part of the squad's buildup to the CONCACAF Women's Championship, which serves as the final round of FIFA Women's World Cup qualifying in the region.
The championship will run from 27 November to 5 December in Texas, United States. Outcomes there will feed qualification for the 2027 Women's World Cup and will also shape the path toward the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The Reggae Girlz are aiming for a third consecutive Women's World Cup appearance. The June dates against Panama mark an early stage of that campaign before the team turns to the regional finals in Texas.
Within CONCACAF, the women's championship closes the qualifying cycle that leads into the global tournament. Jamaica will use the twin friendlies in Panama to gain match practice roughly six months before the Texas event opens.
The Reggae Girlz and Panama will meet twice in the same month at the same stadium, giving the technical staff back-to-back outings to assess players and systems ahead of the higher-stakes championship window in late November and early December.
