REMINDER NWC Advises of Road Closures and Traffic Changes – Munroe Wellington Pipeline Project

To: All News Editors April 8 , 2026 For Immediate Release REMINDER NWC Advises of Road Closures and Traffic Changes – Munroe Wel l ington Pip eline Project The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising motorists and r esidents of road closures and traffic changes along Munroe Road, as works advance under the Wellington Drive – Munroe Road wastewater and water supply improvement project. Whilst limited, phased access was previously facilitated, current excavation activities have necessitated the full closure of Munroe Road, preventing access from Old Hope Road. Additionally, motorists travelling from Mona Road via Wellington Drive will only be able to proceed to the Munroe/Wellington traffic signal. It is recommended that mo torists utilise alternate routes to avoid delays. In effect , the south - western end of Munroe Road has been closed due to safety risks associated with falling rocks during excavat ion for pipeline installation. Motorists are also advised that active pipe - laying is continuing along the se ction of Munroe Road between the Stoplight and the Gas Station at the Northern end. The NWC is noting that special access will be provided for the businesses operators and residents that are situated in the space. Additionally, following the daily pipe - laying activities ( 9am and 9pm ) , limited traffic a ccess may be possible along Munroe Road. The full completion and temporary restoration of access is projected by April 30 , 2026. Where interim single lane traffic is possible, road access will be provided. Th e NWC thanks its customers and motorists for their patience and cooperation with these very necessary works. - END - CONTACTS: Community Relations Department (Eastern) 876 929 - 3540 - 5 Corporate Public Relations Department 876 929 - 1128, 876 929 - 5430 - 5
