Flash flood watch continues for southern Jamaica until Wednesday evening

A flash flood watch remains in force for sections of southern Jamaica until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, as the Meteorological Service warns that unsettled conditions could lead to flooding.

The alert applies to low-lying and flood-prone areas across eight parishes. The Met Service says residents in affected communities should take precautions and be prepared to move quickly if flooding begins.

Fishers and other people involved in marine activities, particularly along the south coast, are also being advised to operate with extreme caution.

A flash flood watch means flooding is possible, though not yet certain, and the public should remain alert while conditions are being monitored.
