Romae Gordon fronts WWD luxury eyewear editorial

Romae Gordon, the Jamaican model who returned to fashion last year, has landed a fresh editorial feature with Women’s Wear Daily focused on a major eyewear look for the summer season.
The WWD story, headlined “Heavy Metal Eyewear Trend: From 90s Inspired Shields to Sharp Rectangular Frames”, shows Gordon in modern, polished styling alongside luxury sunglasses by Prada, Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren and Gucci.
Photographer Vanessa Granda shot the fashion spread in New York City. The images pair structured clothing, leather coats and bold shapes with high-end eyewear, reflecting renewed interest in styles influenced by the 1990s.
Alex Badia handled styling for the editorial, while Andrew Chen did hair and Shaina Ehrlich was responsible for makeup.
“It was super easy to translate the vision for the creative team,” Gordon was quoted as saying in a Thursday release from Sheldon Alexander Group. “The looks are so me — I loved the movement, the edge, the sleekness of the direction throughout.”
Since ending her retirement last year, Gordon has secured work with a number of major luxury labels. Her return started at Versace’s Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2026 show in Milan. She drew broader notice in January 2026 with an exclusive appearance for designer Mathieu Blazy’s first couture presentation, then later walked for Proenza Schouler.
Models.com has since selected Gordon as its “Model of the Moment”.
