Kingston police motorcycle escort for IShowSpeed ends in officer leg fracture

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A member of the constabulary is recovering after a leg fracture sustained in a motorcycle incident on Friday.
The episode is believed to have taken place about 2:15 p.m. on Spanish Town Road in the capital while the constable, detailed to the Traffic Enforcement Division, rode as part of a protective detail for American online celebrity IShowSpeed.
According to circulating accounts, the officer was on an official motorbike when a blue Honda Fit passed it, then halted with little clearance ahead. A forceful stop caused the machine to lose traction and leave the roadway with the rider still mounted.
He was taken to Kingston Public Hospital, received care for the broken leg, and is now on the mend.
IShowSpeed, whose legal name is Darren Watkins Jr, had scheduled Kingston as a leg of his Caribbean Tour. A simultaneous live transmission of his movements through the Corporate Area reportedly attracted millions of viewers worldwide.
