Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel's 2016 smash hit "Fever" has surpassed 150 million Spotify streams, further cementing its status as the deejay's most-streamed song on the platform.

Released on June 10, 2016 as the lead single from his critically acclaimed album King of the Dancehall, "Fever" was co-produced by Linton "TJ" White. The song became an instant classic despite Kartel being incarcerated at the time, with portions of his vocals famously recorded on an iPad and iPhone wrapped in a mattress inside his prison cell.

The milestone comes just weeks after "Fever" earned its first-ever Gold certification in the United Kingdom. On July 3, the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) awarded the single Gold after it surpassed 400,000 combined sales and streaming units, according to figures compiled by the Official Charts Company, marking Kartel's first Gold-certified single in the UK.

To date, the official music video has amassed more than 110 million YouTube views, while the song has become one of Kartel's signature recordings and a global dancehall anthem that remains a staple in clubs, sound systems, and dancehall parties around the world.

Kartel is set to return to the United Kingdom next weekend for a series of major performances, including a headline appearance at Reggae Land Festival on August 2. He will then reunite with fellow Jamaican superstar Mavado for the first-ever Gaza vs. Gully staging outside Jamaica, following their blockbuster reunion at Taste of Reggae Sumfest last Saturday. The historic concert is scheduled for September 9 at London's iconic The O2.
