World Cup Noise Dispute Ends in Fatal Stabbing in St Catherine

Dispute ends in fatal stabbing:A dispute over the volume of a World Cup football matchWorld Cup Noise Dispute Ends in Fatal Stabbing in St Catherine turned deadly in Ewarton, St Catherine, on Wednesday night, leaving one man dead and his uncle in police custody.

Dead is 23-year-old Lamar Mullings, an unemployed resident of Bowie Road in Ewarton.

Reports are that about 8:00 p.m., Mullings, who was in bed while a football match was being shown on television, allegedly asked that the volume be turned down. Police say his 25-year-old uncle reportedly refused, leading to an argument.

The dispute allegedly escalated into a physical confrontation during which the uncle reportedly used a knife to stab Mullings in the chest.

Mullings was taken to the Linstead Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect was later taken into custody by the Ewarton Police on suspicion of murder as investigations continue.
