It was the premiere that set tongues wagging! On April 30, the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) took over Carib 5 cinema for the premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2 that was as much about advocacy as it was about style. Amidst a sea of ‘Runway Magazine’-inspired looks, guests savoured pours of Moët & Chandon Imperial from Select Brands and hors d’oeuvres courtesy of award-winning caterer Trevanne Donegal for S.E.A.R. 27, before settling in to follow the latest chapter in the dynamic between Andy Sachs portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. While we won’t spoil the plot, we can confirm the evening was a masterclass in combining style with social impact, as proceeds will aid the WLI’s efforts in supporting underserved communities through health, mentorship, early childhood education and advocacy.
