Seaforth Sports Club and York United will take useful first-leg advantages into Sunday’s semi-final return matches in the Surge St. Thomas Major League, with both clubs now within touching distance of the final.

Prospect will be the first side asked to chase a deficit after going down 3-1 to York United in the opening leg. The team remains hopeful, saying the two-goal gap can still be closed if the players keep belief, discipline and focus in the second meeting.

York United, despite holding the lead in that tie, are not treating the return leg as settled. The club’s approach is expected to centre on mental readiness, game management, attacking intent and defensive care as they try to protect their advantage and move into the championship match.

Defending champions White Horses have an even steeper assignment after falling 4-0 behind Seaforth. They will need a major response to keep their title defence alive, with emphasis being placed on sharper preparation and improving their work in the first and second phases of play.

Seaforth, who only just made it into the semi-finals, now have the clearest path to the decider. Even with a four-goal cushion, the club is not assuming the job is complete, noting that opponents will still arrive determined to fight for the result.

Both semi-final return legs are scheduled for the Express Sports Complex on Sunday, with the opening match set to kick off at 5:00 p.m.
