Six Container Homes Near Ready for Trelawny Infirmary Residents in Falmouth
Residents of the Trelawny Infirmary should take up quarters in six container homes before month-end, according to municipal officials. Andrew Harrison, chief executive officer of the Trelawny Municipal Corporation, confirmed that finishing touches — mainly electrical — are all that stand between the units and handover.
The new dwellings sit on Cornwall Street in Falmouth and will serve as the infirmary's replacement after Hurricane Melissa wrecked the previous building in October 2025. Roughly 50 people housed for now at the Elliston Wakeland Youth Centre are due to shift once those final jobs wrap up.
