Police say they have broken up a suspected theft operation worth millions, after several businesses in Trelawny were allegedly hit in planned raids. Five men are now before investigators on major allegations connected to the matter.
According to detectives, the men formed part of an organised group accused of targeting establishments around the parish from December 2025 to April 2026. Investigators say the losses, including merchandise and money, exceeded $20 million.
The police operation took place on April 11, when officers intercepted the men. Lawmen reported that stolen property was allegedly recovered, along with cash in Jamaican, United States, Canadian and British currency.
Those charged are Kardell Williams, 47, of Mammee Bay, St Ann; Decarclova Lewis, 39, a shopkeeper of Windsor Road, St Ann's Bay, St Ann; Franlyn Crosse, 46, of Henlon, Norwood, St James; Omar Anthony Collman, 33, of Coral Gardens, Montego Bay, St James; and Randy Murray, 40, of Farm Pen, Westmoreland.
Police say the five men were charged with being part of a criminal organisation after they were interviewed by investigators.
