Snoop Dogg Life Story Film Slated for August 2027 Cinema Debut

Universal Pictures has scheduled an R-rated biopic on hip-hop star Snoop Dogg for U.S. cinema screens on August 6, 2027.

The project, called “Snoop,” casts Jonathan Daviss — known for Outer Banks — as the artist born Calvin Broadus. Craig Brewer is attached to direct.

Studio materials describe the film as the definitive account of Snoop Dogg’s life. Universal has not said whether the narrative will span his entire career or centre on a particular chapter.

Snoop Dogg remains a major figure in hip-hop, with 45 Billboard Hot 100 entries. Among his No. 1 hits are “Drop It Like It’s Hot” and “I Wanna Love You,” the latter recorded with Akon.
