Spanish Town Primary overturned a 15-point overnight deficit on Wednesday's closing schedule at Stadium East Field to keep the INSPORTS Central Region Primary Schools athletics title, closing the meet on 376 points, 105 points clear of Naggo Head Primary in second. Greater Portmore Primary rounded out the top three on 225 points after the three-day championship wrapped. Naggo Head Primary had led the standings through the first two days before Spanish Town's late surge.

Head coach Neraiyah Barrett said faith in the squad never wavered across the competition. Barrett told TVJ Sports, "Well, this performance that we displayed today was a very strong performance. We believe in our team." Barrett pointed to relay setbacks the previous day but said the unit still expected to close strongly, citing the Class One boys as a decisive strength when the score was finalised.

On the track, Spanish Town Primary banked four championship records on the final day. Atalia Harriott won the girls' 800 metres open in 2 minutes 36.95 seconds, lowering the previous standard while running clear of the field. Jamar Amos followed with 2 minutes 18.66 seconds in the boys' 800 metres open, also under the old mark. The school then clocked 1 minute 53.71 seconds in the sprint medley open and 1 minute 43.27 seconds in the boys' 4 × 200 metres open relay.

In field events, Delante Brown of St. John's Primary cleared 1.59 metres to set a new high jump open record, while Akeem Richards of Spanish Town Primary placed second at 1.52 metres.

The Eastern Regional Primary Schools Championships are scheduled to open at Stadium East Field on Thursday and continue through Saturday.
