St Andrew Woman Charged: A 21-year-old woman from St Andrew has been charged in connection with an alleged $1.4 million motor vehicle fraud involving the sale of a Toyota Probox earlier this year.
The accused, Sanoya Jackson of St Joseph’s Road, Kingston 13, has been charged with engaging in a transaction involving criminal property, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy to defraud.
According to the police, the charges stem from an investigation conducted by detectives assigned to the St Andrew Central Police Division.
Reports from the Half-Way Tree Police indicate that between February 6 and February 8, Jackson and an alleged accomplice reportedly defrauded a man of $1,444,000 during a transaction involving the purchase of a Toyota Probox motor car.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police, triggering an investigation that led to Jackson’s arrest.
Investigators say she was formally charged following a question-and-answer session conducted in the presence of her attorney.
The police have not disclosed whether additional arrests are expected as investigations continue.
