Deported St. Catherine suspect Tafari Duhaney charged in Rodane Walker killing

Police have charged a St. Catherine resident who left Jamaica for Trinidad and Tobago after he was linked to a killing last year. The accused is Tafari Duhaney, 24, a forklift operator of Windsor Heights, Central Village. He was taken into custody in Trinidad and returned to Jamaica on May 29, and is due before the court shortly.

Officers had been hunting Duhaney in connection with the death of Rodane Walker, 27, of Robinson Road, Windsor Heights. He now stands accused of murder, wounding with intent, five counts of shooting with intent, using a firearm to commit a felony, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Accounts of the case state that on May 30, 2025, Duhaney and other men allegedly fired on a car Walker was driving. The gunmen then reportedly seized the vehicle and drove off. Officers later tried to stop the car near the North/South Highway. In the chase that followed, the driver is said to have lost control and the car ended up in a ditch.

Those inside left the wreck and allegedly opened fire on the police, who shot back. The men fled on foot, reportedly abandoning two guns at the scene. Officers took Walker to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The investigation remains active.
