
St Catherine police have opened an investigation after a woman's decomposing body was found in the parish on Wednesday.
According to reports, people walking through a section of Hartlands district found the body in bushes about 11 a.m. and alerted the police.
When officers arrived, they saw the woman lying on her back. The body, which was in a severe stage of decomposition, was estimated to measure about 5 feet 6 inches.
The woman was wearing black tights and a blouse, and had no shoes on.
Investigators examined the location, and the body was taken away to be formally identified and for a post-mortem examination. The Spanish Town Criminal Investigation Branch is handling the probe.
