St Catherine police investigate fatal highway incident involving Manchester woman

1 min readSt. Catherine

St Catherine police are looking into the death of a woman who is said to have leapt from a car in motion on the PJ Patterson Highway and then been struck by a following vehicle on Thursday.

Officers say they are hunting for a motorist who left the scene without stopping. The woman who died has been named as Donique Thomas, 28, of Hibernia, Manchester.

Police accounts place the incident at about 8:30 p.m. Thomas was in a 1997 Honda Civic with a man on the highway when a dispute broke out between them, investigators reported.

She then opened the front passenger door and left the Civic while it was still moving, according to the police. A car travelling immediately behind that Honda then ran over her, they said.

The driver of that second car fled the scene, police added, and investigators are working to identify and find that person.
