St Catherine Farmer Charged After Old Harbour Bus Driver Killed in Pitchfork Attack
A 36-year-old farmer from St Catherine has been charged with murder after police say a bus driver was fatally attacked with a pitchfork in Bois Content, Old Harbour, on Wednesday night.
The accused is Peter Fable of Free Marlie, Bois Content. Investigators say Fable, armed with a pitchfork, approached 33-year-old Mario Newell of Joe Brown district, Bois Content, at about 10 p.m. on July 1 and told him he had "something" to give him.
Police allege that Newell was stabbed several times in the chest and face, leaving him with severe bleeding. Fable then reportedly left the scene, but officers later caught him during an operation. Newell was taken to May Pen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following investigations by the Old Harbour police, Fable was held on suspicion of murder and was formally charged on July 2 after a question-and-answer session.
