St Elizabeth teen charged with murder after machete attack kills older brother

Police have charged 19-year-old Lorenzo Williams, of Stephenson Town, Seaview, St Elizabeth, with murder and wounding with intent following an incident at his home on June 13.

The deceased has been named as 21-year-old Travis Williams, the accused's brother. Lorenzo Williams is also accused of wounding their 43-year-old mother and a 14-year-old brother.

Reports say that around 12:30 a.m., family members were at home when an argument erupted. Lorenzo Williams allegedly became enraged and used a machete to strike Travis repeatedly across his body. He is also alleged to have used the same weapon to inflict chop wounds on his mother and younger brother.

Officers were summoned to the scene, and the injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Travis was later pronounced dead.

Residents detained Lorenzo Williams after the incident and handed him over to the police. He has since been charged, and a court date is being arranged.
