St Elizabeth businessman charged after police find alleged stolen gaming equipment

St. Elizabeth

A businessman from St Elizabeth is before the authorities after police said a search at his home on Friday turned up several items believed to have been stolen from gaming machines.

Investigators identified the accused as 50-year-old Rilock Ffrench, a farmer and businessman of Seven Corner, Santa Cruz. He has been charged with housebreaking and receiving stolen property.

Police said the search at Ffrench's residence led to the discovery of six poker box circuit boards, a poker box bill acceptor, a black American roulette gaming machine marked with red stripes, and a touch screen poker box monitor.

The police also reported taking possession of a Total water pump and a blue-and-black Westinghouse 5300 SC generator.

Superintendent Coleridge Minto, who heads the St Elizabeth police, said investigators questioned Ffrench over the weekend, but he could not explain how he came by the goods. “We are asking individuals who may have had their poker boxes stolen to make checks with the Black River CIB,” he said.

Minto said reports of break-ins have fallen by 43 per cent so far in 2026 when measured against the same period in 2025, while stressing that the police are still pursuing people linked to those crimes.
