Sunshine Girls thrash Trinidad and Tobago 81-22 in Commonwealth Games opener

Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls began their Commonwealth Games netball schedule in Glasgow with a commanding 81-22 win against Trinidad and Tobago. Debutant Azara Wilmot topped the scoresheet with 33 goals in her first outing at senior level, and captain Shamera Sterling-Humphrey highlighted the side’s work on defence.

The Jamaicans meet New Zealand later today, chasing a second consecutive Pool B victory. In other Commonwealth action, Sabrina Lyn reached the final of the 100m breaststroke, and the country’s 3x3 basketball squad finished with one win from three games.
