Supernatural Power dominates World Vet Day Trophy at Caymanas Park

1 min readSt. Catherine

Supernatural Power, trained by Philip Feanny, made the $1.25-million 2026 World Vet Day Trophy a one-sided affair at Caymanas Park on Saturday, winning the one-mile (1,600m) feature by 13 lengths.

The four-year-old American-bred grey filly, a daughter of Cross Traffic out of Urquia, was much too good for her Overnight Allowance opponents. She completed the trip in 1:35.3, finishing just one second shy of the 1:34.3 track record posted by Wantin An Havin in 1997.

With two-time champion jockey Raddesh Roman aboard, Supernatural Power was not the quickest away from the gates, but she soon gathered herself and advanced into second behind California Gold, ridden by Demar Williams, as the field passed the intersection near the seven-furlong (1,400m) marker.

Roman sent the filly forward before reaching the six-furlong (1,200m) point, and once she took command, the result was never in doubt. Supernatural Power travelled strongly through the last three furlongs and kept pulling away without being asked for full effort.

Is That A Fact, ridden by Robert Halledeen, took second, while Cookie Day N Night, with Emelio McLean aboard, finished third. The fractional times were 23.3 x 45.4 x 1:10.4 x 1:23.1.

The victory pleased punters who backed Supernatural Power at odds of 1-5. It was also her first success this season after two solid runner-up finishes.

Trainer Patrick Lynch and jockeys Richie Shakes and Tevin Foster each recorded doubles on the 10-race programme. Lynch won the seventh race with Princess Cataleya, partnered by Tajay Suckoo, and the eighth with Lauren’s Secret, ridden by Nicardo Carr.

Shakes scored in the opening event on Greyt Magnum for trainer Ray Phillips and returned in the sixth to win aboard Newland Links for trainer Barrington Bernard. Foster’s two winners came on Honour Prince for trainer Robert Pearson in the third race and Any Means for trainer Michael Marlowe in the fourth.

Racing continues today.
