T&T lead Barbados by 329 runs

1 min read

Barbados Pride are staring down a daunting run chase on day two of their West Indies Championship play-off against Trinidad & Tobago Red Force at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, with the winner earning a place in the final against reigning champions Guyana Harpy Eagles.

Having resumed on 298 for 7 overnight, T&T Red Force pushed through to post a first innings total of 333, leaving Barbados with a significant target to chase. The Pride's reply has been shaky at best. They were four for one at lunch and have since slipped further to 25 for 3, leaving them trailing by 308 runs with wickets continuing to fall.

Unless Barbados stages a remarkable recovery, Trinidad & Tobago look well placed to advance to the championship decider.

Meanwhile, across Antigua at the Recreation Ground, the Guyana Harpy Eagles are using the downtime to stay match sharp. The defending champions are in the middle of a warm-up fixture against the West Indies Academy, who posted a formidable 485 in their first innings. Guyana's openers have made a steady start in reply, reaching 32 without loss.
