TAJ Reports Islandwide Outage Affecting Motor Vehicle Registration Services

Motorists across Jamaica are being warned that they cannot currently process motor vehicle registration transactions at any tax office or through the online eServices portal, according to Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ).

In a statement issued on Monday, the agency attributed the situation to ongoing system disruptions affecting the platform that handles these particular transactions.

The outage affects renewals, new motor vehicle registrations, vehicle transfers and the purchase of registration plates, with neither in-person nor online channels currently available for these services.

TAJ noted, however, that other services remain operational. Payments for motor vehicle certificates of fitness and the settlement of traffic tickets can still be processed in person at any tax office or through the eServices platform.

"Our technical team and service providers are actively engaged in resolving these issues and are working assiduously to restore full functionality in the shortest possible time," TAJ said.

The agency added, "TAJ sincerely regrets the inconvenience this disruption may cause and thanks customers for their continued patience, understanding, and cooperation as we work to normalise services."
