Tax Administration Jamaica walks manufacturers through new SCT licensing and registration

Manufacturers are moving to secure licences under the Government’s updated Special Consumption Tax (SCT) rules, and Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has rolled out support measures to help them meet the requirements.

Among those steps was an online webinar on 4 May, aimed at clarifying the new legal framework and the tax duties manufacturers now face.

TAJ has scheduled a follow-up virtual panel for Thursday, 14 May, to offer further direction on licensing and registration.

Although the SCT regime began on 1 May, manufacturers have until 15 May to complete licensing under the new provisions.
