She has served in several capacities over the years at different organizations, with the last 20 years of her service being devoted to her post as Director of HRMA, at the National Works Agency (NWA). She has represented Jamaica internationally on various regional assignments which included: Consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1994; Jamaica’s Representative on the Finance and Administrative Committee of the Caribbean Disaster Response Agency, held Annually in Barbados from 1994-2002; and CARICOM’s Representative to Cuba, to select housing solution for victims of a devastating volcanic eruption in Montserrat. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Social Policy, from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, Jamaica. She also has a Master of Public Sector Management, also from UWI. Dr. Henry also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Geography, as well as certifications in Business Administration and Project Management. Dr. Jennifer Henry has left an indelible mark on the NWA. On the occasion of her retirement from office, tributes poured in from persons who worked with her over the years. The following is an excerpt from a tribute to Dr. Henry presented at a farewell engagement, held in her honour: It is with great pride and admiration that we pay tribute to Dr. Henry’s two decades of dedicated service as the Director of Human Resource Management & Administration at the National Works Agency (NWA). Dr. Henry has been a true leader and mentor, and her impact on the NWA and the lives of those she has touched will be felt for years to come. Dr. Henry’s commitment to excellence, professionalism, and integrity has been the hallmark of her tenure as Director of HRMA. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the culture of our organization, fostering a spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement. She has been a source of inspiration and guidance, always leading by example and demonstrating a strong work ethic and a passion for helping others succeed. Throughout her career, Dr. Henry has been a champion for the rights and well-being of staff, advocating for fair treatment, equal opportunities, and a positive work environment. She has been a trusted confidante and advisor, always willing to listen, support, and provide guidance to those in need. Her dedication to the development and empowerment of team members has been unwavering, and her impact on the professional growth and success of staff is immeasurable. Dr. Henry, has been a shining example of excellence, professionalism, and compassion, and her legacy will continue to inspire the staff of the NWA to strive for greatness. Dr. Henry, we thank you for your dedication, your guidance, and your friendship. We wish you all the best in your retirement, and we look forward to celebrating your many accomplishments. Congratulations on a well-deserved retirement, and may your future be filled with joy, happiness, and fulfilment.
