The Pitt and Hacks Lead 2026 Emmy Nomination Count

Nominees for the 2026 Emmy Awards have been unveiled, with HBO's medical drama The Pitt setting the pace after securing 25 nods in its first season eligible for the honours. That figure positions the series as the leading contender across the drama categories.

In comedy, HBO's Hacks closed out nomination morning with 24 recognitions for its fifth and final season—the highest single-year nomination total any comedy series has ever achieved.

Apple TV+ recorded its strongest Emmy nomination day to date, earning a record 87 nods for programmes including Widow's Bay, Pluribus and Margo's Got Money Troubles. HBO Max remained the top platform overall with 122 nominations, among them nods for the Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Television's leading performers will head to Los Angeles on September 14 for the 78th Emmy Awards ceremony, where the year's standout shows and stars will compete for the top prizes.
