Tielo Lanez Releases Redemption on Mercy Lap Rhythm Project

2 min readSt. Andrew

Music producer Ricco Diplomats has partnered with two young, up-and-coming production houses to roll out a new dancehall single, "Redemption," sung by rising act Tielo Lanez as part of the Mercy Lap rhythm project.

"This Redemption song has the potential to be a big hit. I believe this song will give us the big break as young producers. We all believe in Tielo Lanez so we've come together to bring different vibes and energy to make it happen," Ricco Diplomats, whose real name is Rick Foster, said.

The record is being released through the Ricco Records, Moji Records and Black Satin imprints.

"Tielo Lanez is signed to DJ Mac, and we are also working with him. He is the next artiste people expect to be the face of dancehall," he said.

Team Upgrade built the instrumental backing the Mercy Lap rhythm. Dancehall names Valiant and Skippa are also set to appear on the same rhythm.

Ricco Diplomats is counting on Tielo Lanez to develop into a major force in the industry.

"He voiced more than one song for us. Another song he voiced was 'Fat Fat' on the remake of the Throat riddim we called Street Mongrel. So 'Redemption' is actually the third song he is voicing for the team," Ricco Diplomat, who is a member of Valiant's team, said.

Ricco Ras is a former road manager and entertainment insider who later moved into production. He also performs as a dancehall artiste, entering the recording scene with the single "Tek Go Off" in October 2021.

He shifted from promotions work into making music, recording solo material at Core Upgrade studio in Stony Hill. He was raised in Duppy Gully and Rocky Valley in St Andrew and is a graduate of St Andrew Technical High School.

In 2017, Rick Foster, known as Ricco, was connected with Gold Plaque Entertainment alongside Ricardo 'Shrimpy' Meikle.
