Tielo Lanez links with Ricco Diplomats for new Redemption single on Mercy Lap rhythm

Producer Ricco Diplomats has joined forces with two young production outfits for Redemption, a new dancehall release from rising artiste Tielo Lanez on the Mercy Lap rhythm project.

“This Redemption song has the potential to be a big hit. I believe this song will give us the big break as young producers. We all believe in Tielo Lanez so we’ve come together to bring different vibes and energy to make it happen,” said Ricco Diplomats, whose given name is Rick Foster.

The track is being issued through the Ricco Records, Moji Records and Black Satin labels.

“Tielo Lanez is signed to DJ Mac, and we are also working with him. He is the next artiste people expect to be the face of dancehall,” Foster said.

The Mercy Lap rhythm’s instrumental was built by Team Upgrade. Valiant and Skippa are also expected to appear on the same rhythm project.

Ricco said he is putting strong confidence in Tielo Lanez’s ability to grow into a major force in the music.

“He voiced more than one song for us. Another song he voiced was ‘Fat Fat’ on the remake of the Throat riddim we called Street Mongrel. So ‘Redemption’ is actually the third song he is voicing for the team,” said Ricco Diplomat, who is part of Valiant’s camp.

Ricco Ras previously worked as a road manager and entertainment figure before moving into production. He is also a dancehall artiste, having entered the recording side with Tek Go Off in October 2021.

His path shifted from promotion work into making music and recording solo material at Core Upgrade studio in Stony Hill. Foster grew up in Duppy Gully/Rocky Valley in St Andrew and attended St Andrew Technical High School.
