Trelawny Relatives Hold Out Hope for Missing Falmouth Fisherman Dennis Clarke

يتمسك أحباء دينيس كلارك، الصياد البالغ من العمر 58 عاماً والمنحدر من Green Park في Trelawny، باعتقادهم الراسخ بأنه سيُعثر عليه حياً، بعد أن اختفى في طريقه إلى البحر يوم الأحد الماضي.

وفي حديثها إلى THE WEEKEND STAR، وصفت كيليشا ستابز، ابنة شقيق كلارك، الأجواء الثقيلة التي تخيّم على المنزل منذ اختفائه. وقالت: "We would feel much better if he came back home because everybody is sad since [he disappeared]. Everyone just have this sad look because we want to see him".

وبحسب أفراد العائلة، غادر كلارك منزله نحو الساعة السادسة صباحاً يوm الأحد، وكان يعتزم لقاء شقيقه في Falmouth Fishing Village لقضاء يوم في البحر. وأُطلقت صيحة الإنذار بعد أن تعذّر على الرجلين الالتقاء، ولم يعد كلارك إلى منزله في تلك الليلة.

وروت ستابز قائلةً: "From Sunday he leave say him gone a sea and all now I can't see him, looking Monday I can't see him so I said 'You know what? I am going in town to find out what's going on', and when I went there, I saw no signs". وأوضحت أنها قطعت المسافة التي تستغرق نحو عشر دقائق من Green Park إلى ميناء الصيد في Falmouth بحثاً عن أي معلومات.

وأضافت: "I asked around [at the fishing village] and they said no they don't see him. So I just don't understand. We went out there again and still don't see nothing so everyone is asking where is he".

وجاء التطور اللافت يوم الأربعاء حين عثرت العائلة على متعلقاته بالقرب من الشاطئ، على مقربة من Falmouth All-Age School حيث اعتاد كلارك إخفاء أغراضه.

وقالت ستابز: "We saw the bag with his clothes and his slippers. It's his one strap bag, and then that brown shopping bag with his clothes and so. That's up by the school way where he always put his things".

واعتبرت العائلة هذا الاكتشاف مؤشراً مشجعاً. واستنتجت قائلةً: "This mean that he did left out to go to sea then because the clothes that he wear is in the bag. But the ones he would dive in are missing".

غير أن ستابز أعربت عن خيبة أملها لأن عمليات البحث التي أجراها الغواصون وعناصر من Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard لم تسفر حتى الآن عن أي نتيجة.

وعلى الرغم من أن كلارك لا أبناء له، فقد أكدت ابنة شقيقه أنه كان جزءاً عميقاً من نسيج العائلة. وقالت بصوت يتلاشى: "Everyone thinks I am his child, that's the relationship we have".

من جهتها، أشارت رونالي غرين، صديقة العائلة التي انضمت إلى الأقارب في المنزل، إلى أن لا أحد رأى فعلياً كلارك وهو يدخل الماء. وقالت: "He used to go fishing by himself but him stop that ... him don't usually pass the reef".

وأضافت غرين أن معلومة وردت يوم الأربعاء تفيد بأن كلارك شوهد عند الجزر الصغيرة (cays). وقالت: "The other fishermen and his brother went to look. They don't see him or any boat, but they said that's a location he can swim to".
