Troy Clark Fatally Shot During Police Operation In St. Ann
A man identified by police as Troy Clark, otherwise called Roach, was shot and killed during a targeted police operation in Content Garden, St. Ann, on Thursday.
According to the police, officers from the Area 5 and Area 2 Fugitive Apprehension Teams went to Top Hill district about 4:40 while acting on information and carrying a search warrant. Investigators said the operation was aimed at finding Clark, who was regarded as a high-risk target because he was believed to have prohibited weapons and unauthorised ammunition.
The police reported that officers knocked at Clark's apartment door and announced their presence. They said sounds of movement were then heard inside, after which the team forced entry into the unit.
Police alleged that Clark fired at the officers, who returned fire. He was wounded and later taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said a Taurus 9mm pistol, along with a magazine containing five rounds, was taken from Clark. Police also reported finding a clear plastic bag with seven additional 9mm rounds on his bed.
