Tru Juice FC will play in the Red Stripe Jamaica Premier League next season after clinching promotion from the JFF Tier Two competition, ending years of close calls for the Linstead, St. Catherine club.

The breakthrough came in the semi-finals, where Tru Juice defeated Green FC 4-3 on penalties to book their place in the top flight. Head coach Craig Richards said the result was significant not only for the club, but also for the wider Bog Walk and Linstead communities.

Richards said Tru Juice had repeatedly been near promotion since the competition began, often reaching the semi-final stage and performing well without getting across the line. He said the timing finally worked in the club’s favour this season.

Asked what changed, Richards pointed to stronger organisation behind the team. He said the coaching staff operated well as a unit, the players responded positively, and the club benefited from adding experienced players. According to him, the season’s structure lined up with the organisation’s wider plan and objectives.

Forward Kurt Laws, who has previous top-flight experience with Molynes United, has been a key figure in the promotion campaign. Laws has scored 11 goals for Tru Juice this season and said returning to the club has been rewarding because of the support he has received from the Tru Juice family.

Tru Juice will next contest the Tier Two final against Humble Lion FC on Sunday at Ferdinanda Park. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
