Two Pennsylvania Women Killed in Route 55 Crash

3 min read

Pennsylvania Women Killed in Route 55 Crash: Two Pennsylvania families are grieving the heartbreaking loss of two young women who were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 55 in Deptford Township, New Jersey, late Sunday night.

According to authorities, 22-year-old Ayzia J. Toledo of Bristol, Pennsylvania, and 22-year-old Henrietta Love Carter of Darby, Pennsylvania, died after the BMW they were traveling in left the roadway, overturned, and crashed into a tree.

The fatal crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 55 near mile marker 57.1.

New Jersey State Police said Toledo was driving the BMW while Carter was riding in the front passenger seat. Investigators believe Toledo lost control of the vehicle before it veered off the road, overturned, and struck a tree. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet said what caused Toledo to lose control of the vehicle.

Family Remembers Henrietta Love Carter

Carter’s family said the 22-year-old was pursuing her dreams and had recently achieved a major milestone by opening her own beauty salon in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania.

Her loved ones described her as an ambitious entrepreneur with a passion for beauty and makeup artistry, a dream she had been working toward since high school.

Her mother, Kemah Carter-Wesley, remembered her daughter as someone whose kindness defined her life.

“She was the most selfless, the most loving, the most kind,” she said.

Family members said the meaning of Henrietta’s middle name reflected the way she lived.

“She was just Love. She embodied it,” her mother added.

Her father, Ekena Wesley, said his daughter had always been determined to become a makeup artist and build something meaningful through her work.

Reflecting on her legacy, he encouraged others to value every day.

“Tomorrow is not promised, and because it’s not promised, you seize the moment now and do the best you can and leave a mark. Love left a mark.”

Ayzia Toledo Remembered as a Bright Spirit

Toledo’s family is also mourning the sudden loss of a young woman they said had an exciting future ahead of her.

Relatives described the 22-year-old as a social media model and influencer whose positive energy made everyone around her feel loved.

In a GoFundMe campaign created to assist the family, loved ones described Toledo as having a “beautiful spirit” and said she brought light and love into the lives of others.

Community members have rallied around her family, contributing thousands of dollars to help with funeral expenses.

Investigation Continues

New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

While investigators work to determine what caused the BMW to leave the roadway, both families are left mourning two young women whose lives were filled with promise, ambition, and love.

The tragedy has deeply affected communities in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where family members, friends, and supporters continue to remember Ayzia Toledo and Henrietta Love Carter for the lives they lived rather than the way they died.
