On Friday, the prosecutor requested more time to go through the files, claiming that she had received the case files at the morning of the court hearing that day, and as a result, she did not get enough time to go through the files to responded to a bill application made by Davis. While June 8th was suggested as a possible new mention date, the investigating officer requested more time to verify a number of details, including that while Blake referred to the deceased woman as his wife, checks are being made to determine if there is a marriage certificate. Davis told the news that she is hoping to get an anticident report prepared by the police by next court date set for Friday, June 12th. Police reports indicate that around 2:00 a.m. Brad Shaw and Blake had an altercation at their place of dwelling when she was injured. JDF urges patients as pro begins into UPAR camp barracks fire. The barracks building that was raised on Friday at Up Park camp, the headquarters of the Jamaican military was flagged by soldiers as a serious fire hazard. sources have revealed. However, the Jamaica Defensive Force has cautioned against the such a rush to form conclusions about the cause of the blaze, citing the internal and external investigations that are already underway. Please allow time for the investigations to be completed and the answers to your questions to become clearer. Colonel General Staffer Damian Kra said yesterday the external probe is being led by the Jamaica Fire Brigade. He said until these investigations have been concluded, we are unable to speak to the cause of the fire or to the full extent of the damage. Crary said he was responding to questions from the news that pointed out that soldiers had raised the safety concerns about the Baraka building. Army sources say the fire started shortly before 700 p.m. inside the dilapidated wooden structure that houses soldiers between the ranks of sergeant to warrant officer. Describing the state of the building, one source said it was like a tinder box waiting on a match to strike. In other words, its wooden structure and it was so dilapidated it was a serious fire hazard, said the source. Not only were the living conditions over there bad, there were electrical wires all over the place. Over the years, several soldiers raised a concerns about the situation, but nothing was done. The source claimed JPSD bunker conspiracy theory, US vessel and JDF fire linked to island wider blockout says Vance. Conspiracy theories that last Friday night's all island power outage was due to the arrival of the Nimitsa class aircraft carrier USS Nimmits to Jamaica and a fire at the Jamaica Defense of Force headquarters were shot down by Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications, and Transport Daryl Vase, who said the claims were ludicrous and the fake news. Addressing a press conference with representatives of Jamaica public service on Saturday to provide an update on the progress to restore power to the island, Vas assured the citizens that the outage was due to inclement weather which resulted in a system failure. I want to make it very clear at this point that it was a system failure of the JPS and to make sure that I state clearly that all of the conspiracy theories that have been making the rounds are fake news. I will not even repeat some of them because they are so ludicrous. This was a simple or should I say a straightforward system breakdown within the GPS insisted vase. According to the GPS CEO Hugh Grant, inclement weather resulted in the loss of five transmission lines emanating from significant substations in the corporate area. A cascading effect, he said, further caused a loss of generation across the entire island and resulted in the shutdown of the entire grid. The USS Nimids is an aircraft carrier of the United States Navy and the leadership of its class. It is one of the largest warships in the world known for its nuclearpowered engines and its significant size spanning 1,92 ft. According to the US embassy and the several Jamaican government officials, the arrival of the vessel highlighted the strength of expanded US Jamaica security cooperation under President Donald Trump, particularly the partnership in maritime security. It was also explained that the vessel is on its 11th iteration of the southern sea tour which is known for fostering goodwill and the threatening maritime partnerships throughout the region. However, upon the warship's arrival last week, many Jamaicans expressed a concern about its presence, especially amid highly strained US and Cuba relations following intensified sanction including a fuel blockade. the US indictment of former Cuban leader Rahul Castro and US officials calling Cuba a failed state. Minister of Foreign Affairs Senator Camina Johnson Smith assured the Jamaicans that the American aircraft carrier was not a part of a larger plot by the United States of America to intimidate or launch military action on Cuba. However, the islandwide blackout further fueled the conspiracy theories and many have questioned the timing of the power outage. Jamaicans on social media also claimed that last Friday's fire at UPAR camp is linked to the power outage. Another claim that was dismissed by both Vas and Grant. The vessel is on its way to Florida now Saturday afternoon to go up to New York. The vessel left here at 8:00 yesterday, Friday morning. So again, you know, us Jamaicans, we love the excitement and the sus, but the fact of the matter is, I meant it's ludicrous, similar to the JDF fire earlier. Thankfully, nobody was injured. Fires that take place every day, so it's just the timing of the two things. But I can say definitively that as the JPS president has said a system failure is the cause of the all island power outage. Vas assured Grant further confirmed that the fire was not linked to the outage responding no to questions posed on whether the two incidents were connected. Reports are that a fire broke out at the barracks area of Parker camp last Friday night. The JDF fire unit as well as the Rollington Town, Halfway Tree, York Park, Trenchtown, and the Spanish Town Fire Stations responded swiftly and worked collaboratively to contain the blaze, the JDF said in a release. The fire has since been successfully extinguished.
