Trump Iran Ceasefire Talks End With No Deal After Situation Room Meeting
US President Donald Trump met with senior advisers in the White House Situation Room as his administration weighed a framework to prolong the ceasefire with Iran.
No clear course of action emerged from the meeting. Trump has pressed for conditions that include Iran being barred from ever producing nuclear weapons and the Strait of Hormuz being reopened to shipping without restrictions.
The proposal would reportedly keep the ceasefire in place for 60 more days and open discussions on Iran’s nuclear programme. Iran, however, says its nuclear policy is not on the table. Both governments have described the state of talks differently, and no official deal has been declared.
