Seventh night of US strikes hits Iran after Trump ends ceasefire
American forces launched a seventh straight night of attacks on Iranian military sites after US President Donald Trump said the temporary ceasefire was "over." Iran struck back at American allies, among them Kuwait.
The fresh round of fighting has left two US service members dead, caused damage to infrastructure in Kuwait, and led Jordan and Bahrain to intercept incoming missiles. A truce reached in mid-June fell apart once peace negotiations stalled, and each side has blamed the other for breaking the deal.
Leaders across the region denounced Iranian strikes on civilian infrastructure. Tehran maintained it paused its obligations only after what it called US aggression.
