ST JAMES, Jamaica - Kelvin Pyne, a well-known 42-year-old fruit seller from Orange in St James, died after being shot in Montego Bay on Saturday night.
Reports say Pyne was discovered about 11:30 pm along Miriam Way. He was lying on his stomach and had wounds caused by gunfire. He was brought to hospital, where medical staff declared him dead. The St James police are probing the killing.
Pyne had also been among three men who tried to help people caught in floodwaters in Montego Bay on April 19, 2022. During that incident, Beryl Walters and her grandchild, Jennel, were swept away by the powerful water. Jennel's body was later found, but Walters has never been located.
