At least fourteen bodies were recovered within days of one another in June from sites across several Jamaican parishes, and police have opened investigations into the discoveries. Officers found decomposing remains in rivers, bushland, and remote communities, while skeletal remains were located hidden in vegetation.

The findings come as official crime statistics point to a sustained dip in killings. The Jamaica Constabulary Force recorded six murders between 21 and 27 June, marking a second straight week with single-digit homicides. That followed eight killings in the 14–20 June period, among the longest stretches of low weekly murder totals so far this year.

Mark Jackson, principal of Ascot Primary School in Portmore, has apologised after last week's decision to separate graduating pupils based on their performance in the 2026 Primary Exit Profile examinations. In a weekend statement issued through the Ministry of Education, he said he was woefully sorry and wholeheartedly apologised for what he called an unintended outcome.

Five people were killed in a shooting on Monday at a youth welfare facility in Stade, a town in northern Germany, police said. Two people, including the suspected gunman, were arrested. Authorities confirmed that others were injured but did not say how many.

The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association has named its squad for the upcoming North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association Under-18 and Under-23 Championships. Team Jamaica will be led by reigning national women's 200-metre champion Alana Reid and rising sprint talent Kai Kelly.

At midday, one United States dollar sold for J$158.89, the British pound sterling for J$210.95, and the Canadian dollar for J$113.20.

Tuesday's forecast calls for isolated morning showers across eastern parishes. Elsewhere, conditions should be mainly sunny to partly cloudy, with widely scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms expected mainly across central and western parishes.
