Vybz Kartel Confirms Biopic and New Entertainment Ventures
Dancehall veteran Vybz Kartel has announced that his life story will be adapted for film. He disclosed the project during a recent conversation with DJ Akademiks, while stressing that he has no intention of leaving music.
Known as the Worl' Boss, Kartel said he recently completed eight tracks within one day. He indicated that his drive remains strong after spending decades in the music business.
The “God and Time” artiste is pursuing several other ventures alongside the biopic. These include a reality programme and an expansion of his Street Vybz rum label through additional alcoholic beverages, among them vodka.
Kartel shared the developments ahead of Saturday's A Taste of Sumfest music festival. He is scheduled to headline the event with dancehall entertainer Mavado, whom the source described as a former sparring partner who later became his friend.
