Vybz Kartel lands guest spot on Chris Brown’s 12th album BROWN

Dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel is listed among the guest acts on American singer Chris Brown’s 12th studio album, BROWN (Breaking Rules Only When Necessary), which dropped on Friday via RCA Records/CBE.

The 27-song release also includes appearances from Bryson Tiller, Fridayy, GloRilla, Leon Thomas, Lucky Daye, Sexyy Red and Tank.

Kartel teams with Brown on the track “F&!k N Party,” produced by T-Town.

It is the third occasion a Jamaican-born dancehall performer has featured on a Chris Brown album. Back in 2009, Sean Paul and Brown linked up on “Brown Skin Girl” from Graffiti, with production by Scott Storch.

Brown’s 2023 album 11:11 included “Nightmares” with Jamaican-born Byron Messia. That Afrobeats-dancehall fusion reached No. 73 on the UK Singles chart and No. 22 on Billboard’s R&B Songs chart.

Brown has also worked with dancehall act Konshens on a remix of Konshens’ hit “Bruk Off Yuh Back.” In addition, Elephant Man’s 2008 Grammy-nominated album Lets Get Physical includes “Feel the Steam” with Brown, produced by Andrew Fennell and Willie Daniels.
