Vybz Kartel's Fever earns UK gold one year after US certification

Roughly twelve months after the Recording Industry Association of America officially certified it gold in the United States, Vybz Kartel's dancehall single Fever has received the same distinction in the United Kingdom.

The British Phonographic Industry issued the certification on Friday, marking combined sales and streaming equivalent of 400,000 units. Kartel recorded the track with producer Linton 'TJ' White; it first appeared in 2016.

The honour did not translate into a placing on the official UK Singles Chart. In the United States, Fever reached number 36 on Billboard's Rhythmic Airplay chart in 2017 and held a position on that listing for six weeks.
