Vybz Kartel Closes US$3.9 Million Parkland Mansion Deal in Florida

Dancehall heavyweight Vybz Kartel has extended his property portfolio into Parkland, Florida, closing on a US$3.9 million mansion set on a private 2.19-acre parcel.
Public records show the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom residence changed hands on May 12. The dwelling offers 10,107 square feet of indoor space. Austin Bergman of Compass Florida handled representation for the sale, while Eric and Christina Trinh of Momentum Luxury Real Estate acted for Kartel.
The estate blends mid-century modern lines with contemporary finishes. Inside, 30-foot ceilings, marble and hardwood flooring, a gourmet kitchen, a den, an office, a recreation room, and self-contained in-law quarters with its own full kitchen frame the layout. A 600-gallon jellyfish tank also forms part of the interior.
Outside, the grounds carry resort-scale amenities: a 140,000-gallon swimming pool, jacuzzi, waterfalls, a fire feature, a swim-up bar, private patios, and a basketball court. Marketing copy for the listing pitched the compound as “your own resort.”
The property had been on the market above US$4 million and had traded once before, in 2016, for US$2.5 million.
Kartel, whose legal name is Adidja Palmer, marked the acquisition this week in several Instagram posts. One video places him at the house with his mother, Theresa Palmer, and friends, set to his track Victory. Another shows his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, posing with a “sold” sign before the pair kiss on camera.
In one caption, Kartel wrote: “Huge love to this beautiful Vietnamese couple @toprealtorsouthflorida for helping me and Sidem find our new home. From the first conversation to the final keys, the energy was genuine, warm, and professional all the way through. Y’all made this moment feel exciting, smooth, and unforgettable. Blessings always.”
A realtor responding in the comments thanked Kartel and Sidem for their trust and wished them “happiness, peace, and beautiful memories” in the new home.
The Parkland transaction looks to be at least Kartel’s third property acquisition since 2024 and, by reported value, his biggest so far.
He walked free from custody on July 31, 2024, after Jamaica’s Court of Appeal chose not to order a fresh trial for him and his co-defendants in the 2011 killing of Clive “Lizard” Williams. His earlier conviction had been set aside that same year by the UK Privy Council because of juror misconduct.
His bond with Sidem has featured prominently in his life since release. Reports say the two started corresponding in 2015 while he was behind bars and became engaged in 2022 during an approved prison visit. She stood beside him when he emerged from prison, and the couple later started their Kiss Me Baby YouTube channel.
