Vybz Kartel Adds Wizkid, Mavado and Spice to God & Time Album Lineup

Vybz Kartel Adds Wizkid, Mavado and Spice to God & Time Album Lineup

Vybz Kartel has named three more acts for his forthcoming album God & Time, confirming that Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid and Jamaican dancehall figures Mavado and Spice are set to feature on the project. The album is scheduled for release on June 5, 2026.

Those names add to a guest list that already included Puerto Rican Latin artiste Farruko, along with Jamaican performers Shenseea and Skillibeng. With contributors drawn from Jamaica, Nigeria and Puerto Rico, the set places dancehall beside Afrobeats, Latin sounds and modern Caribbean music, underscoring Kartel's broad international pull and dancehall's growing presence beyond Jamaica.

A key talking point on the album is Kartel's link-up with Mavado. The two artistes were central to the Gaza and Gully rivalry that shaped much of dancehall in the 2000s, and their appearance together on God & Time points to a notable easing of tensions and a new moment for the genre. It also comes before their expected joint headline slot at Taste Of Reggae Sumfest later this summer.

God & Time follows Kartel's consecutive Grammy-nominated albums Party With Me in 2024 and Heart & Soul in 2025. It is being positioned as his most intimate and wide-ranging release since he left prison after 13 years.

The album is produced by Kartel and longtime partner TJ Records, reuniting the team responsible for Viking (Vybz Is King) and King of the Dancehall, the latter of which included the RIAA Gold-certified single Fever. God & Time will be issued through TJ Records / Vybz Kartel Muzik, with distribution handled by Zojak World Wide.
