Sri Lanka Prison Violence Leaves 19 Dead and Over 100 Injured

Violence at a prison in Sri Lanka has claimed at least 19 lives and left more than 100 people injured, a senior medical official has reported.
Negombo Hospital, located north of the capital Colombo, has received the remains of four prison guards and 15 inmates, hospital director Pushpa Gamlath told the AFP news agency on Monday.
Gamlath said the facility also admitted more than 100 wounded inmates following the unrest.
