West Indies Claim 1-0 Test Series Over Sri Lanka After Final-Day Draw

1 min read

The West Indies have wrapped up a 1-0 Test series win over Sri Lanka after the second match ended in a draw on the final day.

It is one of only a handful of Test series victories the Caribbean team has recorded over the past ten years. They took control of the contest by winning the opening Test.

Sri Lanka declared their second innings on 251 for 9, leaving the West Indies a target of 302 to chase. The visitors closed the match on 109 without loss, well short of the required total but secure in the series.

Jamaican opening batters John Campbell and Brandon King held firm at the crease, each reaching an unbeaten 51.

The outcome offers the West Indies renewed confidence in the five-day game as they work to build steadier performances in Test cricket.
