West Indies Clinch T20 Series Against Sri Lanka With Thrilling Five-Wicket Win
The Windies claimed the T20 International series against Sri Lanka two-one after a nail-biting five-wicket victory that went down to the wire.
Sri Lanka set a competitive target of 169, but the West Indies batting lineup dramatically rose to the occasion. Sherfane Rutherford was the anchor throughout the chase, keeping his composure under pressure to bring up an unbeaten half-century in the final over and seal the win with two balls to spare.
However, it was Jason Holder who provided the moment of the match. Coming to the crease in the 19th over with the target still in sight, Holder launched three massive sixes in a stunning five-ball cameo, finishing unbeaten on 21 to end the contest effectively. West Indies crossed the line on 170 for 5 to lift the trophy.
The win rounds off an impressive series for the home side, who bounced back after dropping the second match to close out the series in style.
