WiPay unveils Gov Pay 2.0 AI platform for national ROOFS shelter payouts

WiPay Group in Jamaica says artificial intelligence will now sit behind how money is paid out under ROOFS, the Restoration of Owner or Occupant Family Shelters Programme that backs government help for owner or occupant family shelter works.
Kibwe McGann, country manager for the company, said WiPay crafted Gov Pay 2.0 so that handing over approved assistance becomes quicker and less cumbersome. He said qualifying households could be given timed slots to pick up support at in excess of one hundred outlets scattered nationally.
McGann also noted that beneficiaries may have sums sent straight to a nominated bank account if they choose, cutting travel spending and the danger of moving large cash amounts. He said the setup should block duplicate grants and strengthen oversight of who gets paid.
