A brutal stabbing in downtown Kingston has ended with two dead on Wednesday after a woman was killed in full view of bystanders and the alleged attacker was later shot dead by police.
Fifty-year-old Katherine Wallace was stabbed about 6:15 p.m. along Love Lane in an incident that was captured on video and unfolded in front of shocked onlookers, some of whom reportedly tried to shield her.
Hours later, about 11:30 p.m., police confronted the alleged attacker, Davar Dacres, at the intersection of Hanover and Beeston streets.
Reports are that Dacres allegedly charged at the police with a ratchet knife shouting, "Mi nah go nuh jail", before he was fatally shot.
The Central Kingston Police are investigating the stabbing, while the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has launched a probe into the fatal police shooting.
